Hawks U22 HL Earn Gold in London - Exciting OT Finish

The U22 HL Hawks showed up to play in the snow bound London Devilettes Tournament this past weekend. The Team cruised through the Pool Round then dug deep in the playoff round. Through 6 games the team scored 32 goals, allowing only 1 against, and earned 5 shutouts between the pipes. Team passing and awe-inspiring individual skills were respectfully displayed. The playoff round was tougher and team work was needed from the net out.  

In the Championship game Hawks were trailing 0-1 to the Devilettes half way through the third period before a classic tic-tac-toe passing play between Sarah, Julia and Tia tied up the game. London pressed late in regulation time while the Hawks were short handed 3 players to 5. Strong defensive play kept the score tied at the end of the third and into OT. Once the teams evened up, Tia took the puck away from a London defender at the blueline and deked a solid London goalie, netting the game winning goal. 

Hawks Win Gold 2-1 in OT.    

Thank you, Coach Steve, all the staff and parents. This is an awesome group of young women who played for the love of the game and team camaraderie. A great weekend all around.
